Filmed in CinemascopeFilmed in Cinemascope was a body-inclusive fashion show celebrating the glamour of Hollywood’s silver age while challenging the narrow ideals of beauty historically tied to it. Presented by Body Haven at Columbia College Chicago in collaboration with She Who Stuns, the show reclaimed the phrase from the song “Miss Baltimore Crabs” in Hairspray, where Tracy Turnblad is told she cannot appear on television because she wasn’t “filmed in cinemascope.” In contrast, this runway proved that everyone belongs in the spotlight. Featuring models ranging from size XL to 4XL, the show celebrated confidence, style, and visibility for all bodies. The evening opened with a performance by independent singer HAJ and a burlesque performance by Ruby, embodying classic silver screen glamour. With an audience of over 150 attendees, Filmed in Cinemascope transformed vintage Hollywood aesthetics into a powerful statement of inclusivity and celebration.
